Great Experience

Our experience was great. Martha, the receptionist/manager, was friendly and knowledgeable. She upgraded us to a larger unit at no extra charge when the size unit we wanted was unavailable. She personally showed us how to get into our unit. She was very busy with many parties during our appointment but she never got flustered.

Back door broken

I gave this a 2 star rating because my locker is next to the back door elevator and it's very sad that they don't fix it right away for the customers. I refuse to start hauling my big items because it is so inconvenient to haul it through the long hallways.

Martha was great!! She is knowledgable of their services, thorough in her explanations and patient (i couldn't get the hang of the lock! She patiently let me practice?) Everything else was quick & easy. Mahalo plenty Martha!! The facility was clean & cool. Access seems simple with convenient times. The space i got is perfect for my needs.

The lady in the front is very nice

The lady in the front is very nice. Aside from that this place sucks and is way too strict! What's the point of having cameras if you can't even trust people who are paying you a lot of money to rent, to use the dolly's after hours. Most people who bring/remove things from the storage NEED DOLLY'S! They shouldn't be locked up! It's ridiculously stupid here!!! People pay, let them use the tools they need! If not, change the hours of the front desk shift! What's 3 more hours of having someone there. STUPID!!

Needed a short time frame for a storage...

Needed a short time frame for a storage locker. Friend found a special at Public Storage and put in a reservation. Sean at Halawa contacted me the day before to confirm arrival to review reservation and complete paperwork. Completed paperwork in timely manner. Communication with Sean from start to finish was excellent.

At the 1200 Kuala location

At the 1200 Kuala location, Angie was fantastic. She was friendly, welcoming and informative. The only thing preventing me from giving 5 stars was a call with Cathy when I called the number listed on the website. This is about a customer service experience I had with Cathy at approximately 2:39 PST on Wednesday June 13, 2018 via the telephone. I called with a simple question, I wanted to figure out what the height of a 5x10 unit is. She explained to me what a 5x5 unit could fit as well as a 5x7.5, neither of which I am interested in. Instead of giving me the dimensions, she told me things I could fit inside such as a king bed and a dining room table, I have neither of these items. She then explained I could fit 50 boxes in a 5x5 room, once again something I don't need. A "box" is not a unit of measure as not all boxes are the same size. She said the 5x10 could fit a studio apartment, something I have never had. I tried to clarify that all I wanted has the height dimension of the unit, then she tells me I am being rude. This confused me because she was not answering my question so I thought if I clarified my question she could give me an answer instead of giving me answers that did not apply. Eventually, while still telling me I was being rude, she said she did not know the height dimension of the unit. This is an acceptable answer in that each unit may be different, which is why I called in the first place. I do not feel I was being rude and it was her that was hostile. She kept saying I was interrupting her but on my end of the phone, there was a break in the conversation so there may have been a delay in my cell service which to her may have sounded like I was interrupting her. Her tone was not one that I would expect from such a large company with a good reputation. My family uses public storage and my experiences so far have been great. I write this not to complain but to hopefully improve the overall phone customer service. Cathy did not listen to my question because if she did, she could have simply told me that there are no exact heights and each unit is different. Thank you for your time.

Very helpful staff, helped resolve move in issues. Some maint aspects seem lacking. Price and unit are great. Hours very limited, makes it difficult to access before or after work, wish it was 24/7 or at least later after traffic hour.

I've rented at several other storage locations on the mainland and this Public Storage location is by far the best I've used. The place is very attention to detail on security. I feel very confident and safe storing my belongings here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Hoku assisted me and I'm definitely recommending her as a person to contact for more assistance! Great facility and excellent customer service! Mahalo especially to Hoku for being so awesome! We had a great first time experience with renting out a storage unit. Hoku was very helpful with showing us our options and setting us up with a unit in a great location within their facility. There was no pressure and she patiently answered all of our questions. Great experience with this facility so far. It is very clean and well ran. Alex was extremely helpful when I came in to get price quotes for a unit and let me know about the reservation system in case I wanted to hold a specific size. Hoku was efficient and friendly getting me setup once I was ready to move my things in. She helped me get the right size to accommodate my needs so I didn't end up paying for a bigger unit than was necessary. Thanks for the awesome service ladies! Keep up the great work. :)

Awesome Experience

Fast, friendly, exceptional service! I would recommend my friends to store their items here!!! Reserved my unit online, got a call, went in and everything was smooth sailing. Took a look at the size to see if it was a right fit...met my needs, signed the paperwork and moved my things...saved me time and energy! If I have any problems or questions the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I love this place!!!!

I couldn't make up my mind as to the size of the unit. The staff was patient and showed me several different sizes twice (because I went two times). they have specials which I actually got a better deal in person than the online price. I'm very happy with my storage unit. It's convenient, clean, great accessible hours and it hold all my stuff!

Cleaniness is next to . . . .

The staff is generally courteous with the minor details. There is one of the younger girls that is very personable & acknowledges everyone with a warm greeting. Nonetheless, we have been a long time tenant & have noticed that the facilities have not be maintained. There is general disrepair & the general cleanliness could be improved upon. We have another storage on the other side of the island that allows us to compare. The carpet for the hallways need be to vacuumed if not daily, at least weekly. The restrooms definitely need to be cleaned everyday. Their automatic front door need to be repaired, though they maybe waiting for some replacement parts. During the winter, the air-conditioning in the storage area is just adequate. Whereas during the summer, the temperature is too high. We realize the A/C in the office area is always set low, thus it may seem OK to the staff, but the storage area gets warm during the day during the summer months. The dead florescent lights are not replaced. We feel this is symptomatic of a general malaise & not necessarily bad management. The attention to detail is lacking from the staff. We would like to give a higher rating the next time we are surveyed. This is contingent upon some, if not all of the improvements being attended to. We were considering giving one star lower, because we know that this storage facility has seen better times. As we stated at the introduction, the staff for the most part is friendly & want to give them an opportunity to improve. We debated if a bunch of "minor" defects should equal another "minus" of a star. Best regards,
