The overall storage was excellent.
This was my first time using a storage facility. I was very satisfied, with the storage area, cleanliness and security. The main thing was the customer service, on the phone and in person. Being helpful and courteous was a plus for me, since this was my first experience using a storage facility.

Great location, property and manager!!
The location manager (Kendra) went above and beyond to help us move in and make the process seamless. Property is really well maintained and clean. Lots of carts are available for move in and use of the free truck rental for first time customers is awesome!!!

I moved into Uncle Bob's storage facility last Sunday. When I arrived at the facility with my movers (who I was paying $165/hour), the elevator code I was provided did not work and I was unable to access my storage unit on the second floor. I called the 1-800 number Uncle Bob's provided and the person I spoke with told me she would file a report and someone would get in touch with me ASAP. I explained that I had movers with me and needed access to the building that night. No one called me back, so I moved my items into an unoccupied storage unt on the first floor that was the identical size to the the 2nd floor storage unit. The next day, someone from Uncle Bob's called me to tell me I had to either pay $169/month for the 1st floor storage unit (rather than the $119/month I agreed to pay for the 2nd floor unit) or move my belongings to the second floor. I told them that they hadn't kept their end of the bargain and the two options were either (1) they pay for movers to move my items to the storage unit on the second floor or (2) I keep my items in the 1st floor storage unit and pay $119. They refused and threatened to evict me from the storage facility. So not only did I incur extra costs when my movers and I could not access the second floor where my assigned storage unit was located, but now they are forcing me to pay more than the agreed-upon $119/month for a storage unit. I therefore would never use this storage facility again and would not recommend it to a friend or relative.

I'm glad I made the choice to store here
I made a last minute choice to leave the country for a few months in the beginning of January. Looked at UHAUL, Public Storage, etc... many of the places had bad or mixed reviews. I made a reservation here. Not only did they call me to make sure I was interested still, but I got to view several units in person before I made a purchase. It's clean, secure, and the staff person who helped me (forgot her name, but she was working in the evening) was extremely courteous, knowledgable, and overall a chill person. So glad I picked this facility!

Overall easy to move. I wish there was more than one elevator and it was much easier to access to my floor. I spent alot of extra time on the elevator waiting to get to my floor.

Good, clean space
Pros:
The space is really new and very clean. Nothing about it was dark or damp.
The people who work there are nice, though the whole check in process is a little slow and cumbersome.
Lots of carts available for moving into the unit.
Very reasonable prices, in my opinion.
High-ceiling elevators.
Cons:
Hard to find street parking.
I was moving in after office hours, and the bathrooms are locked then.
You need a code to get up the elevator, which is great for security, but just makes everything take longer.
The elevator is also very slow.

Uncle Bob's is Great

Some sunlight on my crazy moving day
Moving is extremely stressful..to put it lightly, I was going insane by the time I had my apartment packed and in the moving truck! When I got to Uncle Bob's Storage, Kendra greeted my father and I with a big smile. The place was spotless and smelled good, she even mentioned that she had cleaned for us. The facilities are very cool and climate controlled, everything seemed brand new if you ask me. Kendra flew through the paperwork, was very thorough and actually fun to talk to. She made this a very pleasant experience for me and I am happy that I chose Uncle Bob's Storage. I also had no problems upgrading to a larger unit than I had originally planned on.

Exactly what we needed
Called around to the different storage options throughout the city - and every call was mired by high prices and less-than ideal options. Uncle Bob's was a pleasant experience through and through. Everyone was very helpful and polite. The place itself was super clean and well maintained. The only downside is that you have to purchase your own insurance on the spot, but it comes out to $10 per month so its not all that bad. Definitely the best value in the city.

Great Experience
I compared prices online with other storage spaces in Chicago and this was by far the cheapest I found. When we went in the first day the lady who helped us was so polite and extremely helpful. I felt very safe leaving my belongings in such a secure and clean place. When she saw that we were moving in a couch she upgraded our space to one with climate control without us asking and with no extra charge! Overall great experience.
