Great price but get what you pay for
I rented a 5x5' unit for $33/mo. Great price. Reserved and signed lease online which is very convenient. However, there was no attendant in the office during open hours (mid-day on a Sunday). I called another location and they said they were understaffed. That location's attendant gave me my gate code but turns out the gate on the left was open and unsecured both times I came through with a van load. Didn't have to use the code to get in.
I'll have to make another trip out there because they make you pay for a lock upfront that I didn't need and I want a refund on the lock. The lock was inside the unit so I'll have to physically take it back to get the refund.
Overall great price. But you get what you pay for.

I'd drive further just to get that customer service every time!
I drove from Redmond (near Seattle) Washington to here yesterday. I started driving Friday, and had only gotten a few hours of sleep over those three days. I was exhausted and ready to pass out. It was about five minutes before close, and the lady didn't treat me like "oh man, I was about to close up and go home!". She was super cheerful which helped me out a lot, full of energy, and a truly amazing woman. Her name is Jessica, and she went above and beyond yesterday. Truly thankful for people like her, they make this world a better place. Simply writing a review doesn't do this justice. She needs a hug and pat on the back for being such an amazing person!

The Lenexa location has the best service!! Do not go to any other location! The manager is so fun and upbeat and always making sure she is there to help. I believe her name is Jessica. She is amazing and made my storage experience so much better than the Overland Park manager he was very pushy. We are very happy with our choice so far.

I have gone through an absolutely hard and trying time when I was forced out of my home. Loved staff,not thrilled with open space
Needed a place to park a business trailer. Thought I was getting a space in an open lot. It ended up being along the perimeter fence which makes it hard to get in and out. Otherwise pleased.

It is so rare to find genuinely good customer service, especially with a good product (in this case, affordable storage in a good central location). My property manager Jessica is a gem and I couldn't be happier with how she communicates and goes out of her way to take care of us. Love that you get a lifetime discount if you order online too, rather than 6 or 12 months, and that it is month to month. That said, I haven't had all good experiences in the past with Public Storage. In 2009 I had a unit in Tucson with them. Had a card expire and forgot to update it with them, and they made almost no effort to reach out to me before they just cut my lock. The staff didn't ever seem to want to be there or help me. Could be that the company has just improved since then so I left my rating at 5 stars.
