The place is falling apart

The gate sometimes works, sometimes it’s open all night. The automatic sliding door to the building doesn’t work. You need to open and close it manually. Often it is left open negating the fact the building is supposed to be climate controlled. After almost filling my unit, I pulled the string to turn on the light and the bulb fell out. The ONE cart to help you move item only has 3 wheels and it unsafe. The elevator door opens before the elevator is at the correct level creating a tripping hazard, if you try to exit too soon. The online paperwork is a scam to get you to buy their insurance. After filling everything out it won’t let you proceed without buying their insurance, even if you already have insurance.

The ole switch and bait - watch out!!!

I reserved a 10x10 unit from this facility on-line on 4/8/2018 for $119.00. Then I immediately went to this location to finish up all the paperwork. Yes, I could have done it on line but I wanted to see the actual unit I would be getting and I also had questions about the "move in special". After all said and done the $1.00 move in special came up to $69.00. Still not bad for the unit I was renting. The issue I have is that the following month my monthly fee went up to $129.00.Then three months later my monthly fee went up to $159.00.Then 8 months later my monthly fee went to $186.00!!Then it went up again 4 months later to $197.00!! Let me be clear, the employees are great and pleasant and the facility was somewhat clean for a storage facility. The problem I have is with the price gouging. It is now 3/6/2021 and this will be my last month with this company due to the reasons above. I'm not giving them another chance to raise my rent again. Especially when I can get a 10x15 unit at their competitors on the first floor, climate controlled for $109.00 and yes I did my due diligence this time and asked about raising my rent every few months and in this rental contract I have with the new storage facility and after speaking to the manager I am locked in at this rate unless I am late on a payment. So GOODBYE PUBLIC STORAGE!!!

Great saleperson

Tracey the salesperson was very nice and gave us very important facts about company policy and insurance plan. Tracey provides pamphlets for the company policy and insurance policy. Tracey also answered our questions about the company and where to find additional information about the company. The salesperson also provide how to get inside the building, and the Gate, and how to retrieve our lock for the storage unit.

Poor Hall lighting

My experience as a whole was great. The only thing I can think of is that the lighting in the hallway is mediocre, at best. I didn't expect the storage room to be illuminated; however, my unit does not have a light near the doorway in the hall. It makes it somewhat difficult to arrange the boxes.

Packing and storage made easy!

My former experience with Public Storage was always good. The management at Clearview Public Storage made my current packing and storage even better. I originally stopped for bubble wrap and shown other packing supplies available. Each time I stopped by for more packing supplies, the manager was always courteous and took time to explain features. I was never rushed to complete my transactions and given decision making time. It was refreshing. I completed my storage last Saturday. Thank you Clearview Public Storage for making it a pleasurable experience.

Tonight I came to the property to move in and didn't realize the time. Thankfully Ashley was here to help I am so grateful that she came out her house on her own time to help me get out this gate. If not for her I'd be stuck here at public storage it was her kindness and patience I really appreciate. Satisfied but didn't like hidden fees

I was satisfied with the company and it definitely meets my storage needs for a decent price; however, it is very deceiving when you see online that the total will be $25.00 for the first month and that is just not the case. When I signed up on line, they got me with the $1 for first month. Then they add on a one time processing fee of $24.00, making the total $25. Which is still a great deal, no big deal. I get to the storage place, find out on top of this I now have to buy insurance for my items (they require it) so that is an additional $11.00, then they tacked on some other fees I am not even sure about. I walked out the door out of $68.00 for the first month. Again, even that price is reasonable and I would have been less upset had they told me the entire cost in the beginning. We already had a car full of stuff and we were in need of the storage unit, so we didn't have the time to say, never mind we will find somewhere else. Again, the storage unit is exactly what we were looking for and the manager there was really nice, I just wish the company would be more honest and tell you about these costs up front.
