Overall fairly positive experience
Overall it has been a pretty positive experience. Some difficulty logging into app and being able to reach staff at facility, but you don’t need the app for access to gate or locker so it was fine. Management is very nice and helpful. Howewever, there isn’t always someone there to answer phones or return calls during office hours.

Fantastic customer service
Woman at the desk was super friendly and really helpful. She made sure everything I needed was taken care of and did so in a timely manner. She even remembered me the next day when I came to drop everything off in my unit and gave me a huge smile and waved hello and goodbye as my wife and I came and left.

First of all, great job by PS to have consistent processes at all locations. I made reservation at 2 different locales, and I received a call within minutes from both to confirm and provide additional info - this is on top of the email confirmations received.
Alex managed the sign up and orientation process for me. Let me just start by saying I am the fastidious sort and very much into the details. Alex outdid herself with the meticulous process she followed AND COMPLETED despite my many interruptions along the way.
She was very knowledgable and, just as importantly, was very friendly! I usually get one OR the other at BEST. Often, I get someone who is neither.
Overall, my experience was "fun"... as fun as it can be at a storage facility! LOL

my new 5 x 5
I had a 5 x 5 with Extra Space Storage for about a year then I moved and wanted to try something new. With Extra Space, I was happy with the storage, but they kept raising the price every other month. I am hoping that Public Storage is not as quick to raise prices since storage is not exactly a necessity of life. The metal door on my outside storage unit let some snow in which I wasn't too happy about. They plowed the lanes and banked snow high against the bottom of the door. However, the staff is very friendly and the prices are reasonable. The space seems a little bit smaller than what I had but maybe it's the way it's allocated--taller rather than more ground space. I just moved in, so I don't have a lot to say, but so far I'm pretty satisfied and I feel my stuff will be safe.

Very pleased with first time use of a rental facility
Check in was fine and the attendant was sensitive to my not being comfortable with providing extra information on contents of storage unit such as a copy of the vehicle registration. The team has been helpful both times I interfaced with them. My one complaint or suggestion is that after 48 hours I determined I needed the next size larger. That meant that my rate jumped tremendously as changing it meant that I lost the Internet only rate. Suggest that you give 48 to 72 hours for free rate jump that doesn't create an immediate penalty for misjudging space needs.
